~ Nashrullah ~

2021 150 lb. Anatolian Shepherd x Kangal x German Shepherd x Saint Bernard

Nash is huge and independent, an enthusiastic and dedicated livestock guardian. He is very energtic and aggressive about patrolling his space. When he wears our GPS unit, you can see that he spends the majority of his time on perimeter checks of his free-range laying-hen space. He is constantly at work and never seems to want a break, yet he never barks in the night unless livestock have gotten loose.

During these checks he is happy to sink his teeth into foxes and other predators in the yard, he caught his first fox at around 18 months of age. He is absolutely massive, strong, wicked-fast, smart, athletic, and energetic.

Although Nash doesn’t express much natural interest in herding, he will quite happily help put loose cattle back where they belong. Quick to learn flock-protection, he was trustworthy around even the smallest chicks (with supervision) from his first days in the yard.

He is very playful, but most of his play seems focused on preparing for a real encounter with deadly predators; he encourages the other dogs to come at him with all they’ve got. He keeps all the others in top physical fitness and is the head of our hand-to-hand coyote pack defense department! His rough training sessions are broken up only by rest where he picks a high point in the yard to use his keen nose to smell for any intruders. Even when resting, he bolts to life with the slightest change in the air, rustling in the leaves, or chicken distress call.

Since reacquiring him (he was "pick of his litter" but was relinquished back to us for needing truly rigorous work), he has been a reliable homebody for the most-part. Nash is the type who NEEDS a job and plenty of exercise. We maintain him on a vibrating e-collar and gps tracker to prevent him from galavanting into the woods to confront predators. He’s a prized, irreplaceable team member - bred for work on small farms, his parents are our own working dogs Miss Honey (Anatolian x Kangal) and the Ben (German Shepherd x Saint Bernard).

Nash is affectionate, polite, and obedient (despite his strong independent livestock guardian genetics). With his truly impressive size and alert, protective nature he’s a first defense against predators as well as farm asset vandalism and theft. Nash is trustworthy, safe, and loves to be around children (truly a riding dog, and even eagerly scoops just about anyone up for a quick ride!). He was easily retrained for guardian work at our unique B&B and multi-species farm. He greets our B&B guests with a happy, friendly attitude yet senses when people are lurking around with ill-intent.

Nash’s coat is the typical Anatolian coat - heavy shedding for most of the summer, water-repellant, insulative, and protective. He loves to be outdoors full-time/year round (with shelter and straw bedding for winter weather).

More Photos of Nash coming soon! Health testing can be done for serious inquiries. In the meantime, please enjoy some additional photos of his Kangal-Anatolian dam, Miss Honey, and Saint-Shepherd sire, Ben.
